The once dominant Lady Scots volleyball team has played less than .500 ball throughout October. After starting out strong, the team has lost a little momentum since then, going 7-9 in October. With the playoffs looming near, they still have some kinks that need straightening out.

Head coach Amanda Omar notes that the team has run into a bit of trouble as of late. The team's level of play throughout the entire game has probably been the biggest weakness as of late. Omar pinpoints the exact problem saying, "We start off strong in the beginning of the game and get too comfortable with our lead. Opponents catch on to this and use it against."

The team's problems could not be more evident than in their losses against Morton, Joliet, and their performance at the Kalamazoo Tournament, where they went 2-4. The team has since lost their ranking in Region IV. Omar goes on about fixing flaws, adding, "We have to make adjustments. We need to stay more aggressive."

With an overall regular season record of 32-15 and a very talented roster, the team still has plenty of chance to regain their momentum in the playoffs. With the likes of Cathi York, Lauren Ozburn, and Courtney Mayhew, the team is still a powerhouse in the Skyway Conference. Of course the whole team is to credit for the successful season, says Omar of the entire team, "At different times different players step up. The girls play different positions and are working together as a unit."

With that kind of determination and attitude, the team is sure to do well.
