Wild Orchid is the place to go when looking for a unique dining experience. The restaurant has an enchanting and delightful atmosphere that is sure to make guests feel right at home, well home if home looked like a charming Thai bistro. Anyway...
Wild Orchid would be an ideal place to take a date. Picking a unique place like Wild Orchid, as opposed to a more traditional restaurant, has the possibility of making you appear creative and unique (always an appealing quality in a potential romantic partner). Little will they know you only picked Wild Orchid because you read about it in the Tartan-and because you get 15% off your order. Sneaky, sneaky...
Your date is sure to be wowed by the adorable decorations (a signature namesake orchid on every table - so sweet!) as Wild Orchid's décor makes you feel like you've been transported to Thailand. Believe me, you'll completely forget you're actually in Crystal Lake and within walking distance from Best Buy, Kmart, and Arby's! And if the décor doesn't sweep them off their feet, the delicious food is sure to. Also, the faint train whistles in the background can only be described by one word - ROMANTIC.
Wild Orchid offers a luscious array of tasty Thai dishes, which range in price from $5.95-$11.50. Remembing that discount, though, and the price range drops to approximately $5.06-$9.77 - what a deal! Wild Orchid's exquisite cuisine includes savory appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice dishes, noodle dishes, classic Thai curries, signature entrees, and dazzling deserts. Make sure to try the Citrus Chicken ($10.50) which is outstanding, as well as the Basi Bangkok ($9.50), which is highly recommended for those who like a their food with a spicy kick. Most dishes can be prepared with your choice of chicken, beef, shrimp, or tofu, and all dishes can be made vegetarian by substituting tofu and/or vegetables in place of meat. Also, all dishes can be made mild, medium, or hot according to your preference. All dishes are prepared by Chef Mayuree, a highly skilled cook who has been cooking Thai food for over 25 years. Believe me, this guy knows his stuff.
Wild Orchid serves a scrumptious array of mouth-watering Thai drinks, of which the Hibiscus Lemonade, a lovely blend of iced tea and lemonade ($2.95) is highly recommended.
