12 hours of rain and 4 thousand visitors into it, the event known as 'The Trail of History' in Glacial Park was canceled at midnight on Saturday after heavy showers turned the grassy encampment into a wet, muddy mess. Fortunately, the McHenry County Conservation District (MCCD) staff was prepared with back hoes and personnel.

The 'Food Fight' I experienced was not your typical cafeteria tray, beverage throwing food fight most would imagine when hearing this type of terminology. Instead the "fight" I witnessed was that in the form of a debate held at MCC in the conference center.

While many McHenry County College students enjoyed a day off from school on October 10th, a fairly large group of others offered a helping hand for Phi Theta Kappa's "Make-A-Difference" Day. Split into two groups, these students went to either Veteran's Acres or The Lake in the Hills Fen to help clean up and protect the ecosystems at either of these two places as part of Phi Theta Kappa's two-year international service program, "Operation Green," which focuses on improving the environment.

Finally, this school's lack of a film club has finally been satiated. The Philm Club, lead and organized by Justine LaRoche, is a film club that discusses various movies with a focus on philosophy, hence the compound word, "Philm". It is one of the school's newest clubs and it was formed by student interest.
